Men's national costume

Although men’s costume has undergone some changes, it has nevertheless remained more conservative and has almost no specifically local features, fitting into the general picture of Slavonian male costume. Men’s ruvo (costume) is made up of two parts: shirt and pants.

In summer working days this was all that was worn, and the waistcoat, tkanica, and hat were put on for Sundays and other special occasions. On working days they sometimes wore rather wide leather belts, and the lads would wear the tkanica. On working days the opanka (slipper) was not obligatory, and when it was worn, it was on obojke, rectangular pieces of cloth in which the feet were wrapped, or woollen socks.

Men began to give up their costume in 1918, and by World War II it had completely gone out of use (it was not very practical for ordinary wear because of the whiteness of the costume).
